Runtime Error 13

If you are getting errors when trying to start up xGEL (e.g., Runtime Error 13), then you should install this Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0: Run-Time Redistribution Pack (vbrun60sp6.exe). This is NOT the same as Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0

You can run the exe directly and when it asks where to place the files, specify your "C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Alternatively, you can download the .exe file to a convenient place on your computer (for example, a "Downloads" folder) and then run the executable from that location which will self extract the files. When it asks where to place the files, specify your "C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Note that this Microsoft update package has Version 6.0. 97.82 of msvbvm60.dll and that on some system configurations xGEL needs the later 6.0.98.2 version of msvbvm60.dll. So ..... if after installing this Microsoft Update, you try to run xGEL LabMate and get an "Entry Point Not Found Error", then you will need to install the 6.0.98.2 version of msvbvm60.dll. Click Here to go to the page associated with the "Entry Point Not Found Error" . On that page you can see some information about the error and can download the 6.0.98.2 version of the msvbvm60.dll.
